The Management of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, has taken stern disciplinary action against a student found guilty of gross indecency and blatant disregard for the institution's dress code policy.
On March 26, 2025, Udeji Faith Boluwatife, an ND1 student of Computer Science from Ekiti State, was punished for her unacceptable behavior, which is deemed a serious breach of the polytechnic's rules and regulations.
The polytechnic's management views this incident with grave concern and reiterates its unwavering commitment to maintaining a disciplined, respectful, and academically focused environment. We will not tolerate any behavior that undermines our values, disrupts the learning process, or brings the institution into disrepute. The punishment meted out to Udeji Faith Boluwatife serves as a strong warning to all students that such behavior will not be condoned.
However, the director of student affairs, Mr. Bayo Elebute urge all students to reflect on their personal conduct and adhere strictly to the polytechnic's rules and regulations, including the dress code policy. Repeated offenders will face severe penalties, including suspension or expulsion.
He further said that the full cooperation and understanding of our students, parents, and guardians in maintaining a disciplined and respectable academic community.

Education should focus on knowledge, skills, and critical thinking rather than personal appearance.
