NASSCOSS Begins Administrative Process Over Alleged Sexual Misconduct Case

The National Association of Social Science Students (NASSCOSS), Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, has commenced administrative procedures following allegations of sexual misconduct involving students of the Faculty of Social Sciences.


This was contained in an official memorandum issued on July 26, 2026, and signed by the Faculty President, Comrade Ayuba Kamiludeen, and the Faculty General Secretary, Comrade Aderibole Yewande Deborah.


According to the memorandum, the allegations were formally brought before the NASSCOSS Executive Council on July 25, prompting the council to initiate the necessary administrative procedures within its constitutional responsibilities.


The association stated that it is taking appropriate steps to refer the matter to the relevant authorities for a fair, impartial, and thorough investigation.


NASSCOSS reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the welfare, rights, and safety of students within the faculty, emphasizing that students' well-being remains a top priority.


The Executive Council also urged students to remain calm, avoid spreading unverified information, and allow the appropriate authorities to carry out their investigations without interference.


The association assured members that further updates would be communicated through its official channels as developments unfold.


As of the time of filing this report, no official findings have been released by the relevant authorities. The allegations remain under investigation, and all parties involved are entitled to a fair hearing in accordance with due process.
