RUGIPO MATRICULATES 3,000 STUDENTS

It was an atmosphere filled with pomp and pageantry on Friday as the Management of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo (RUGIPO) matriculated no fewer than 3000 newly students into the institution

RUGIPO Press learnt the event was the 31st Matriculation Ceremony held at institution since inception

The event which was held at the institution's 800 seaters, was graced by the acting Rector, Registrar of joint admission matriculation board(Jamb), Principal officers, Deans of Faculty, Board of Studies member, All departmental HOD and the Student union government executives among others

The Acting Rector, Mr Adegun Olorunwa, in his welcoming address admonished the students to pay conscious attention to the existing rules and regulations of the institution

His words, "You are also to be willingly ready to imbibe the fundamental details of academic culture, culture is back in the institution with it's full laudable implications".

"For the sake of emphasis, you are to note that Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo under my watch has zero tolerance for cultism, examination malpractice, stealing, willful damage of institution property authorized demonstration among other unbecoming act. 

"As you are all aware that the first semester examination for the 2023/2024 academic session  is coming up on Monday, 22nd of July 2024,it's only students who have paid their school fees and completed registration formalities that will be allowed to participate in the examination".

In a subsequent interview with the Rector, RUGIPO Press learnt that the institution is one of the cheapest Polytechnic around the south west where there are lots of programs which the students can engage while schooling to curb economic hardship.

Also speaking at the event, the Jamb Representative, Mrs Mary Johnson advised the students to stay committed to their studies as that is their primary reason of being in the institution

Some of the Matriculated student who spoke with our correspondent can't hide thier joy as they showed their enthusiasm of being one of the bonafide student of the institution.
