RUGIPO PORTAL: SUG EXCOS WRITES RECTOR

In regards to the portal issues which the students are facing, the Students Government Union(SUG) executives, Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo(RUGIPO) has declared their intentions to the institution's Rector.

In a letter written by SUG executives and made available to RUGIPO Press today, read that the students have not been able to make their payments, most especially the graduating students as they are unable to continue their screening processes.

According to them, the institution has been experiencing technical difficulties for the past seven weeks which has led some students to squander their tuition fees and get extorted in the process.

The letter partly read,

"The students union leaders have found it so difficult to finance the union and her activities, the hostelites have not been allocated to their various rooms, the school health Center has fails to provide adequate facilities in the hospital and the students have been facing a lot of challenges with this portal, all means of payments has been down".

"We have reached out to the director of the ICT several times without numbers for the resolution of this school portal, we have consulted all the appropriate quarters for this resolution and we have ran up to you sir, but your PA (Personal Assistant) Mr. Ademiluyi, have been the one attending to us all the time in your absence".

The Exco wrote to let the Rector know what they have been passing through for some weeks as the Students have been confronting  them regarding the issue, hence some students have been shut from protesting against this inactive of school portal.

However, they SUG leaders appealed to the Rector to resolve the issue as they won't will not welcome the policy of " No school fees, No exam" for the forthcoming examination, thereby has taken the following actions.

"Identified and isolated the root cause of the issue

"Implemented temporary solutions to restore partial functionality

"Assigned a dedicated team to monitor and support the portal

"We anticipate a full resolution of the issue by [Tuesday, 25th of June, 2024]. In the meantime, please note that:

"Alternative arrangements have been made for the online screening 

"Effective Functionality of the portal for login and payment making 

"Resolution in all aspects of the portal for easily accessibility and effectively used".

The Exco apologised to the students for any inconvenience it may have caused and appreciated their understanding as they work to restore the portal's full functionality.
