The management of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, has today, inaugurate the just elected students union Government executives and alongside the students representative council executives.
The oat of alliance, was administerd to the executives by barrister kayode lkodun and in the process, they all swear to be faithful, loyal and honest in discharging their duties with utmost responsibilities.
The rector of the institution, Mr Ganni Ogundahunsi in his speech has adviced all executives to continue to collaborate with the management to maintain peace in the Institution and also to be magnanimous in victory by accommodating their co- contestants in the scheme of things.
In addition, he assured the executives that the management will continue to pay genuine attention to all matters relating to the welfare of the students within the limits of available resources.
He also appreciate students and staff for deciding to key into his vision of turning the polytechnic into a world class academic community.
The dean of students affairs, Mr Henry Olu Braimoh in his speech, said the leaders were democratically elected, using the E-voting system method and the election was adjudged to be very credible, free and fair. He also charged the students Union leaders to give peace a chance, remembering them that the more a school is shut down, the less the Worth and values of it's certificate in competitive world.
The newly inaugurated president, Omoboni Joseph in his address said his administration is not coming on board to be anti-management but to unequivocally represent the interest of every form of Justice. He also appreciate the management of the institution for their effort in bringing back hope of of the Students union government he as well appreciate the council of governors for their representation of students' interest on campus.
He further tasked his Co-Executives to with passion and dedication bring back precious light and freedom to the union.
However, he uses the opportunity to seek for financial support from the management towards the upcoming National Association of Nigeria students convention (NANS) as the institution is having a representative for JCC chairman.
Also, at the event is the immediate past SUG president known as comrade-comrade who pleaded with the management to always support the executives in their demand, he also advised the Present SUG president not to allow the labour of the heroes past in vain.
He also call on the management to make plans in securing a position in the Institution for SUG past Presidents.
