RUGIPO INAGURATES 33RD SUG EXECUTIVES

The Management of Ondo State- owned institution, Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo, ( RUGIPO) has inaugurated the newly elected Students Union Government (SUG) executives for the 2022 /2023 Academic Session. 

The Inauguration which was held at Adekunle Ajasin Auditorium of the institution was graced by Principal officers, Head of Departments among others

Speaking with our correspondent shortly after the inauguration, the newly elected president Comrade Adedara who was overwhelmed with joy promised to activate a new era of greater significant to the Institution community. 

"Today's victory is not for me alone, but a Celebration of all Rugipolites desire for a new dawn and a new era of greater significant to the Institution environment" 

Adedara, who was the first SUG President from the faculty of Social Science and Communication Studies however sought for the support of Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP), Non Academic Staff Union (NASU) and Senior staff Association of Nigeria Polytechnic (SSANIP), saying his administration will be committed to the safety of lives and properties of the students, staff in the polytechnic community.

Also, The Directorate of Student Affairs, Mr. Olu Buraimoh while commending the process of the just concluded election, said E-voting has come and stay in the Institution. 

He also commended the impact of the Management, Rugipo FM 103.3, ISEC Body, Security unit and all the entire students of the Institution for their corporation during the electioneering period. 

"Though, the turn-up during election is low, but we've realize that students need to be sensitive about the electoral votes and make them is there right. That's the idea we will inculcate in the elections ahead." He said.

He hinted that the management of the institution will hold a day leadership training and mentorship in the Institution after the present semester exam.

Earlier, The Rector of the Institution, Dr. Gani Ogundahunsi while congratulating the newly inaugurated executives, admonish them to abide with the rules and regulations of the institution. 

He however urged the newly elected running mates to work in accordance with the new government. 

Ex- President. Comr Olorunda Olorunfemi popularly known as intellectual expressed his gratitude towards the election and appreciate all the entire Students for the peaceful election.
