RUGIPO: COG ANNOUNCES NEWLY ELECTED CHAIRMAN, VICE CHAIRMAN

The Council of Governors (COG), Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo has announced its Newly elected Chairman and Vice Chairman for the 2022/2023 academic session.

RUGIPO Press gathered that Comr. Temitope Obadaye from the department of Mechanical engineering emerges the Chairman while, Comr. Ayomide Morakinyo from the department of Banking and Finance as the New Vice Chairman. 

The e-voting election which was held on Saturday, 11th February, 2023 was conducted under the tutelage of the Electoral Chairman, Obembe Akinwumi Lawson.

RUGIPO Press learnt that, Comr. Temitope defeated his opponent Comr. Toba Olarewaju with 18 votes to 15 votes. 

Speaking with ex-governor, from the department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering Technology, Leo Comrade Olorunpo Banjo applauded the Electoral committee, saying the election was the first of its kind in COG history of the citadel of knowledge to conduct online voting for the COG election.

"The system was quite innovative and a breakthrough of advancement to the council on campus. Although, "we faced some challenges which is normal doing and online voting for the first time" he said.

"All the voters received their codes at their respective domains and vote in their choices.

"The election ought to have been conducted since last year December, but necessary registration procedures has to be taken in other to ensure free and fair election. He said.
