The Information Computer Technology (ICT) of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic,Owo(RUGIPO) centre has upgraded its portal to 21st century.
The ICT director, Mr Adeoni Olusegun expressed his agitation on the fluctuation of the institution’s portal which has been going on for some weeks now said he is working on the best possible solution, hence, advanced the system upgrade to the 21st century.
In an interview with RUGIPO press, Mr Olusegun said that “the portal is like a house built, where things are kept so it is not a rocky science, adding that the portals condition is fluctuating and the management is working extensively to get it active.
he further explained that a solution has been found but he awaits the approval of the school Rector to proceed into action, thereby assuring the forth-coming examination which is will be commencing on 22nd July, 2024.
Meanwhile the online vendors expressed their grievances as the portal’s instability is craving room for insults and controversies from the students for the fear of being scammed.
"The system upgrade came without a formal notification and has affected a lot of payment activities, even the designated site for the student have been down and inaccessible by the student, the school fees main receipt can not be generated on the school portal, resulting to disbelief and insults from students".
Reportedly, the HND1 students cannot proceed to their online screening because of the portals inactiveness, depriving them of their admission and settling for a space in the forth coming examination creating fear of being accepted.
The students and online vendors are however appealing for full functioning of the portal for it to be accessible at all times for proper and adequate service dispensation.
