RUGIPO: WHY WE CHANGED OUR UNIFORM --- SUG RIDERS

Ondo State-owned Polytechnic's Students Union Government riders has changed thier means of identification(Apron) for the 2021/2022 academic session.

The change was made known on Monday at the gate of the institution.

Rugipo Press learnt that the changes do occur every academic session expecially when a new students Union Government (SUG) emerged. 

According to a source, the new uniform is  quite different from what they have been using from time inmemorial and has become a subject of discuss amidst students of the institution.

Speaking with our correspondent, the institution's incumbent SUG riders' Chairman, Adebayo Ayodele said the change in the colour of the uniform became imperative for easy identification.

"We changed the colour from lemon green to ordinary green because we decided that there should be a clear differenciation between the SUG riders with other agencies, as many agencies is found using the colour like the road safety, environmental sanitations, even churches make use of this same colour. 

"Moreover we changed it to align with the institution's color which was green

"The essence of the uniform is to create a clear differenciation between the SUG riders and external commercial bike expecially in times of security." He said.

He however urged Nigeria students to take note of the changes earlier made by the  SUG riders, saying that any SUG rider caught putting on the previous apron will be reported to the right channel.

However, the Students Union Government (SUG) welfare director, Oluwatoba Adesida who was in charge of the uniform added that the change in the colour of the uniform was for easy identification.

"The previous colour is too common and that is what prompt him to bring the idea in changing the apron colour.

Our correspondent gathered that the uniform is made compulsory for all SUG riders and any riders in the institution without the Apron will face penalty according to the riders constitutional.

Also, Ayodele affirmed that in no case should any SUG rider collect more than the fixed price stipulated "that a sum of #50 for one person and #70 for two people should be collected per drop.

"Anyone who doesnt comply with the rule will be seriously dealt with, He said.
