Gov Aiyedatiwa's Aide Visits Campus Hostel After Fire Outbreak

 



The Special Assistant to the Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Emergency Response, Hon. Prince Oriade Wellington, on Sunday visited the site of a fire incident that gutted an abandoned hostel.


He was joined by the Director of Fire Service, Engr. Folorunsho Samuel, during the inspection to evaluate the extent of destruction and explore measures to forestall future occurrences.


During the visit, Hon. Wellington assured the school community that the state government would intervene promptly to cushion the impact of the fire. 


He urged the rector to compile and submit the list of affected shop owners for onward support from the governor.


He further promised that the campus would be equipped with a fire truck, fire extinguishers, and other safety facilities, stressing the importance of strengthening fire safety infrastructure within the institution.


Speaking on preventive measures, the Director of Fire Service, Engr. Folorunsho Samuel, advised that the school should make provisions for fire gadgets such as fire sand and extinguishers, while also sensitizing students to avoid practices that could trigger similar outbreaks.


The visit by the governor’s representatives offered reassurance to the institution’s management, who expressed optimism that the state would act swiftly to improve safety and avert a repeat of the incident.
