Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, has commenced a two-day orientation program for newly admitted students.
The event, which began on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, is being held at the institution’s 800-seater auditorium.
During his address, the Acting Rector, Mr. Adegun Olorunwa, welcomed the new students and emphasized the importance of security consciousness and academic dedication.
He urged them to prioritize their studies and remain focused on the purpose for which they were admitted.
Also, he advised both new and returning students to always be mindful of their safety in their movements and daily activities.
The Dean of Student Affairs, Mr. Henry Olu Braimoh, encouraged students to fully engage in the orientation sessions and cooperate with facilitators.
He also stressed the role of the Student Affairs Directorate in handling student welfare, extracurricular activities, and conflict resolution.
As part of the program, the Acting Rector inaugurated the caretaker committee of the Polytechnic Tertiary Students Union (PTSU).
