RUGIPO Decides: Shane Elected As Student Union President

Comrade Shane Thompson Aigbodon ,a student of the Department of Mass Communication has emerged as the new elected Students' Union President.

The Chairman of Independent Student Electoral Commission (ISEC) Comrade Okonye Steven Chika made this known while announcing the result of the election held on Friday 20th of December, 2024.

According to him "Shane Thompson Aigbodon who poled 240 votes defeated his counterparts" Ajakaye Festus Oluwatosin(Mass Communication ), who polled 199 votes

"A total number of 9,669 votes were registered during the election while a total number of 447 votes were casted for the election.

Announcing other results, Steven said, Babalola Veronica Irewamiri won the position of Vice President post with 229 votes, Eniolorunda Bamidele (unopposed) from the department of Library and Information Science won for the position general secretary with 320 votes

"Adeyemi Blessing Sunday won for financial secretary with 313 votes, Aralepo Kazeem Olakunle won for Treasurer with 214 votes

"Busari Odunayo Waheed won for Welfare director with 207 votes, Olasoji Ifedayo Tobiloba won for social director with 278 votes, Tolorunju Joshua Monday won for Sport director with 343 votes,

Okeaje Ayodeji Matthew won Assistant general secretary with 261 votes while Olagodo Vincent Damilola won Public Relations with 194 votes.

However, the newly elected President, Comr. Shane Thompson Aigbodion, while extolling the voters, promised to work assiduously for the students and the growth of the institution at large.
