The Students Representative Council (SRC), of Rufus Giwa polytechnic,Owo (RUGIPO) has declared Comrade Olugboyo Peace Olatinji as the new elected Senate President.
This declaration was made by the Independent Students Electorial Committee's Chairman(ISEC),Comrade Okonye Steven Chika after the election held on Friday 20th of December ,2024.
RUGIPO Press learnt that Olugboyo, who is a student from the faculty of applied science who poled 15 Votes ( unopposed)
According to him, "A total votes of 20, was registered while a total votes of 15, was casted.
Other results included ; " Sadiku Abiodun Sunday from the department of Public administration won the position of deputy Senate President with total votes of 15 (unopposed)
Ebong Samuel Titus won the position of the Mace bearer with total votes of 15.( Unopposed)
Malik ojo Kabiru, won the position of Chief Whip with the total votes of 15, while his opponent Ayorinde Anthony Adeniyi have 0 vote.
" Benjamin Olasimbo Anthonia from the department of Mass communication won the position of Chief clerk , with the total votes of 15 (un opposed )
" Akinfela Adeniyi Oluwafemi, won the position of deputy Clerk with the total votes 12.( Unopposed)
The Senate President, comrade Olugboyo Peace Olatinji who was elated about the outcome of the election, however promised to be a good leader and fight for the rights of the students.
