Following allegations against the approved price by the SUG President from students, The motorcyclists, Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo has cleared the air.
RUGIPO Press learnt that The motorcyclists populary known as SUG, allegedly collected #200 fee from students which was not the approved price by the institution's SUG President and has generated to mixed reactions amidst students of the institution
Speaking with our correspondent on the issue, the association's General secretary, (name withheld) outrightly debunked the allegation, regarding it as baseless
His words"none of them collects more than #150 for two people, only when the students do not have change, because there is scarcity of#50 in the town.
A student who preferred anonymity while narrating his ordeal said, i nearly fight with one of motorcyclist on this issue but I have to to let go because of the respect i have for the SUG President.
" Though we understand that fuel is cost now but they should be considerate as they also have children in other institutions".
"A scenario occurred recently when a bike man carried only me from Poly market to Mass communication department and want to collect #150 from me, it's not possible, it has been agreed that from school gate to anywhere inside the campus, is #100 per an individual, so why would he want to collect such amount?".
"If the SUG President does not find solution to it, it will result to what he won't like later because he is our representative and he should be able to speak to them".
In his reactions, the Students Union Government(SUG) Welfare director, Comrade Ogundipe Ajayi however urged all students to report any SUG motorcyclist found guilty
