Mgt approves commencement of E-examination for students
The Management of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo has approved the commencement of computer based Examination for students.
RUGIPO Press learnt that the computer based Examination will commence with the first semester mid test.
In an internal memorandum released by the institution's computer based test committee's Secretary, Mr Oloye. O. M noted that the essence of the the E-examination is to ensure that the best practice in examination management in the 21st century is actualise.
The circular partly reads "this is to formally inform the entire members of the Polytechnic Community that the Polytechnic Academic Board at its meeting heid on Wednesday, 27th March, 2024 approved that henceforth the Mid-Semester tests and Semester Examinations in the Institution should be e-examinations.
"The Committee on Computer Based Tests has been working round the clock with a view to ensuring that this best practice in examination management in the 21st century is seamlessly carried out without fail.This is one of the major reasons why the Committee has been holding meetings with the stakeholders in the Institution.
"I am, therefore, informing the entire Polytechnic Community that the Committee will kick start the e-examination with the Mid-Semester tests in all the Departments and some courses in some selected Departments during examination period in First Semester 20232024 Academic Session and will thereafter spread its tentacles to rest Departments in the future examinstions,
"The students are also enjoined to be aware that there is no room for any special examination and that the policy of no school fees, no mid-semester tests and examinations subsists.
"Arising from the above, the Committee is hereby soliciting for the kind cooperation of all the Deans of Faculties, Heads of Department, Examination Officers and the entire students of the Polytechnic for the success of the e-examinations.
