SUG INAUGURATION: "Both parties should adopt the No Victor-No Vanquished Philosophy"---Acting Rector




In a ceremony marked by enthusiasm and optimism, the Student Union Government (SUG) and the Students' Representative Council (SRC) of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State (RUGIPO), were inaugurated on Wednesday.

The inauguration, held at  Adekunle Ajasin Hall of the institution was a vibrant affair, with the newly elected SUG executives expressing their joy at the event.


Representing the acting Rector, Mr. Adegun Olorunwa, Mr. Festus Akinola delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of adopting a "No Victor-No Vanquished Philosophy." He congratulated the winners on their victory and urged them to avoid the winner-takes-all mentality, while also encouraging those who lost to accept the results gracefully and embrace unity.

Mr. Adegun stressed the significance of maintaining discipline to foster a conducive academic environment, emphasizing the importance of eschewing violence.



SUG President Com. Omote Temidayo (popularly known as "PEOPLE'S CHOICE") pledged transparency, dedication, and accountability in his leadership. He also called for the support and cooperation of his fellow executives, emphasizing the need for teamwork to achieve their goals.

The inauguration ceremony underscored a spirit of unity and cooperation among the student body, with a strong emphasis on responsible leadership and collaboration for the betterment of the institution.
