COG HOLDS FIRST MEETING OF THE SESSION
The Council of Governors(COG), of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic held their first meeting of the session on Tuesday at the old auditorium of the institution.
The COG chairman, comrade Atitebi precious welcomed the newly elected governors and deputies of the institution in to the council, admonishing them to be focused on what brought them into the institution, most especially to maintain peace and tranquility in order to move the council forward.
He further appreciated the efforts of both the apex governors and the returning governors and deputies in upholding the core ethical values of the council.
In attendance at the meeting, was also the president of the Students Union government (SUG), Comrade Omote Temidayo Isaiah.
Temidayo commended the council for their support so far in the institution, especially by controlling their course mates in their various departments.
More so, he laid more emphasis on the new development in the institution especially the mandatory payment of insurance and faculty journal by all students which serves as a new avenue for COG.
Meanwhile, Comrade Adewale Rhoda Adenike made the issue of the hawkers in the institution not having an identity and the complaint of missing scripts which some students are facing in their various departments to the SUG president.
Further more, many issues was raised in the meeting by the governors and deputies which included the cancellation of the science laboratory technology(SLT) department election which the COG chairman took the blame.
Another question raised by comrade Fatope concerning the COG proposed fee, basically for accountability was attended to by the SUG president who said that "it's a pre-informed development and it should be made known in a form of orientation".
Temidayo however assured the safety of every student referring to any assult or Harrasment by any cultist association.
