They also alleged the institution's governing council chairperson, Dr Omoniyi Olubunmi of treating them unfairly.
Our correspondent who was at the scene of the protest gathered that a staff match was held from Adekunle Ajasin Auditorium to the Rector's office with placards in thier hands with different inscriptions such as "We don't want Dr Omoniyi Olubunmi, She's Corrupt," "Olubunmi Must Go", Enough of Financial Leakage" Rugipo staff Cry out" among others.
The unions while expressing thier grievances over the development bluntly blamed the acting Governing Council chairperson, Dr Omoniyi Olubunmi for exhibiting non-challant attitude towards the happenings in the institution without performing her obliged duties towards the union.
"She brought books from Adekunle Ajasin University to be sold here in the institution, they alleged.
The SSANIP Chairman said "We held a meeting with Olubunmi concerning the situation of salaries arrears, her response was that she hasn't collected any money ever since she as been coming to the institution"
Also, Comrade Suhaibu Ifedayo while speaking with our correspondent blamed the past Chairman Governing council, Banji Alabi and Former Rector, Gani Ogundahunsi for being the Genesis of the problem.
"At a time the institution was recorded as the best in South West, but it is now no more an institution to be proud of"
"The former governing council, Banji Alabi who was employed by the government collaborated with the former Rector, Gani Ogundausi and they both destroyed the institution's system, took money away and spend it recklessly with reckless abandon and now the school is not moving forward, the staffs can no longer feed and pay their children's school fees.
One of the protesters, Mr Olarinwaju Olufemi Samuel said, "they believe in the leadership of the State's acting Governor, who as once been a supportive Deputy Governor before he became the acting Governor.
"Going by his name "AYEDATIWA" we believe Ondo State and Rufus Giwa Polytechnic has become ours".
In his reaction, the Registrar of the institution, Mr. Sule Atiku thanked the union for making the protest a peaceful one, adding that the issue of unpaid salaries has been sorted out in Akure with few staff representing the institution
He however assured them that the acting governing council chairperson will be impeached as requested.
RUGIPO PRESS gathered that the union however took the protest to the Acting Governor's office in Akure to seek immediate Intervention on the development.
