The Student Union Government (SUG) president of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic (RUGIPO), Daniel Adedara has clarified the students on the sudden increment of the clearance fee, saying it is for the good of the students.
According to the circular released earlier today by the Ag. Burser, Oyewusi O. O., with Ref: RUGIPO/BUR/10/VOL 11/257, stated that the payment has now been increased from 250 naira to the sum of 5,000 naira.
However, Speaking with the President, Adedara, said the new change will enable the graduating students be cleared without the gigantic payment in both the dean and the department.
According to him, the new improvement will enable the student to reduce the stress of passing through rigorous offices to sign.
"This will also reduce the expenses of the students as there will not be extremely charges from department, faculties and more.
"Students can aswell access their clearance through online Incase if any issue occurs.
"I see the new changes as a good development as it will be a lot of benefits for the students.
"Morealso, I will make sure I meet with the Dean of students affairs on behalf of the students so that there will not be a way where department will extort money from the students.
"I am ready to fight for the Nigerian students because they are my welfarism, students are my priority and whatever I am going to do is for the welfarism of all Nigerian students." He said.
