The management of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo (Rugipo), has concluded on the eligibility measures for the forthcoming Students Union Government (SUG) election coming up soon.
This was stated by the Director of Students Affairs (DSA), Mr. Bayo Elebute in a stakeholders meeting held at the institutions Central Cafe earlier today.
The DSA who gave the eligibility to vote and be voted for, mentioned that the aspirants and electorate must pay their school fees for the new academic session (2022/2023) in order to perform their franchise.
Furthermore, the stakeholders tried to plead with the DSA to allow the students make use of ND1 & HND1 school fees for both aspirants and electorate for the forth coming SUG and Senate election, but unfortunately, the DSA regected the idea.
"If the election had been held last session, that idea would have been partially acceptable," he said.
Meanwhile, the date for the conduct of the election was decided to be left in the hands of the electorial committee to give a date for the election before the announcement.
