RUGIPO STUDENTS PROTEST OVER POOR POWER SUPPLY ON CAMPUS

Rufus Giwa Polytechnic hostel students cry with anger as they protest over early disconnection of power supply in the campus premises.

The incidence which took place this night was handled by the Student Union government (SUG), financial secretary,  Emmanuel Oluwasegun a.k.a Emmy Best, who pleaded with the generator operator to switch on the Generator for the whole students.


According to an eyewitness, Aberu Christian said that the power supply should have stayed for three hours owing to the fact that examination is scheduled to hold tomorrow.


He said; "students need to read but early disconnection of the power supply always limit the extent of which students can study for examination most times.


"Many students are not finding it easy to read in a dark place and this is what we get always. 


" The school should be the place where students should enjoy adequate light to study but the reverse is the case".


 According to another eye withness, (name withheld) pleaded to the school management to give the hostelite at least two hours to study for examinations.
