The Management of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo (Rugipo) has postponed the forthcoming first semester examination earlier slated to hold on September 5, 2022.
Rugipo Press gathered that the examination will now commence on Monday, September 12, 2022.
According to the circular released earlier today, signed by the directorate, Academic Affairs, Gbenga Ademiluyi, with the reference number RUGIPO/DAA/ADM/15/VOL. IV/196, stated that, the management has assented to the passionate plea of the student Union Government (SUG) for a shift in the commencement date of the first semester examination.
The circular partly reads; "The student Union Government approached management with the formal plea for the commencement date shift, giving the need for student who are yet to pay approved school fees the opportunity to do so before the examination commence as the reason.
"The union made this plea having realise the fact that any student who fails to pay approved school fees will not be allowed to participate in the semester examination under reference.
"In this regard, any student who is yet to pay approved school fees is strongly advices to use the opportunity provided by this examination commencement date shift to do so. That any student who fails to make such payment will not be allowed to participate in the semester examination which are stated earlier, start on Monday 12th september 2022."
Meanwhile, Rugipo Press had earlier reported that the institution's Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr Ojo Samuel said that anything can still happen between Thursday and next week Monday.
"I am very sure the students union government (SUG) will still have something to say concerning the examination" He said.
The SUG president said; "I will always do my best for the RUGIPO student, they voted for me, I will perform my duties and obligations to them"
