RUGIPO OLGASU WELCOMES NEW STUDENTS

It was an exciting moment as the Owo local government area students union, (OLGASU) Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo (RUGIPO) chapter held her welcoming party  for 2021/2022 academic session.


The program which happens to be the 42nd of it kind was held within the premises of the institution on the 30th August, 2022.


The Chief Speaker, Prince Olaleke Olateru, while giving a speech on "Empowering  Learning For Life", emphasized on how the country has the largest population of youth in the world and how the population size offers great potential to expand Nigerian's capacity.


He affirmed that the most vibrant agents of the society are the youth populace.


"The empowering of the youth is a key pillar for a stronger society and education is the key to best return on investment in every society," He said.


He concluded his speech by saying the strength of a country is not in the number of its beautiful places nor the might of its military but the quantity and quality of its enlightened men and women.


On his part, the President of the OLGASU, Comrade Salami Shakiru urged members of the union not to forget their primary assignment for coming to the institution and to be proactive and contribute positively to the union's advancement.


Highlight of the event included; Introduction of the newly Miss Olgasu, Olupona Esther, a stage performance from the talented/upcoming artist among others.



The occasion was graced with the presence of some students representative, Alumni and invited guest both from the institution and outside the institution.
