Rugipo: FSSCS FINALLY CONDUCTS ELECTION

The Faculty of Social Science and Communication Studies, (FSSCS), Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo (RUGIPO) has finally conducted its election after several complaints by the students.

During the election at the blue building, the Independent Student Electoral Committee Chairman, Gbadebo Olawale declared all the aspirants winners unopposed, inrespective of the posts seeked.

Meanwhile, Rumour has it that the election was as a result of the suspension of those candidates sent to the house of representatives by FSSCS Dean yesterday during the first SRC meeting. 

The Senate President disqualified those candidates provided by the FSSCS Dean claiming it was an illegal act for Dean to send representatives instead of the Faculty President.

However, the Senate President,Omoyungbo Tobiloba has given an ultimatum of two weeks for the necessity to be actualzed before further steps would be taken.

"According to the Constitution I am handling, it is said that only the faculty president can present any representatives not the dean," He said.

Therefore, the Election held earlier today has given the faculty of social science and communication studies the grace to send their representatives.

On thesame vein, Olawale who urged the new elected FSSCS executives to be proactive in their dealings, stressed that they should always put the welfare and interest of the students at heart
