The newly appointed Mass Communication Head of Department (HOD), Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo, Mr. Solomon Okioya has promised to improve and build on the existing policy earlier made by her predecessor, Mrs Florence Iyadunni Adedowole
He affirmed that he is not ready to bring a new policy as the new Head of department, Mass Communication department.
It will be recalled that Mrs Florence Iyadunni Adedowole bows out as the Head of department of Mass Communication on Monday June 28th, 2022.
Speaking with our Correspondent, Mr Okioya said his predecessor, Mrs Florence Adedowole build on the policy she met when she came on board and improved on it.
"Now that I am here, I am not going to formulate a new policy but I am going to improve on what is on ground and make sure that when I am leaving, it is going to be better than I met it “
"My policy is to make sure that there is continuity in the happenings at the department and also ensure that there is continuity in the tempo of the department as the peace center of the school.
He stated that he will create a cordial relationship between Students and Staff both Academically and Non- academically
Okioya however urged the members of staff to work hand in hand with him to succeed during his tenure as the Head of department, Mass Communication
"Being an HOD is an Institution is non- profitable and he and all the lecturers in the Department are Family so the work still continues
