RUGIPO: SSANIP, NASUP BEGIN INDEFINITE STRIKE

The Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Polytechnic (SSANIP) in conjunction with the Non-Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (NASUP) of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, (Rugipo) chapter has hereby commenced the suspended indefinite strike yesterday, 4th April, 2022.


According to the NASUP chairman,  Obayori Adebayo during his speech, mentioned that the commencement of the indefinite strike was as a result of the 11-month unpaid salary and 2 years of no promotion of staffs.




Base on the present saga in the institution, SSANIP and NASUP has decided to raise their voice to the entire public in order to show their heartfelt by making a peaceful protest.


Adebayo declared that both associations are using the opportunity to plead with the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu to intervene the issue on ground and make necessary adjustment as soon as possible.



"We are not going to resume with the payment of just 'one or two' months salary unless the government pays us in full


"We are looking hopefully to the government and school management to act as fast as possible and also ready to negotiate, if only the negotiation will bring positive result" he said.


Therefore, both associations urged all workers to go home till further notice and no worker is allowed to work, no matter the situation.
