Ondo State-owned Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo (RUGIPO), has postponed its earlier announced resumption date to commence academic activities.
The management of the Institution had in a circular asked students to resume on April 24, 2022.
However, in a fresh circular released on Saturday, with Ref. No RUGIPO/DAA/SCL/2022/4/02 and signed by the Director academic Affairs, Mr.Gbenga Ademiluyi, noted that there was a paradigm shift in the resumption date, saying students will now return to campus on May 8, 2022.
Giving reason for the alteration, the Director said the decision became imperative sequel to the Eid-al-Fitr celebration.
The circular partly read, “The management of the institution took into serious consideration, the need to avert a situation in which students have to start traveling back home for Eid al--Fitr Celebration which Marks the end of the 2022 Ramadan fast and Workers' Day celebration, both of which comes up in the first week of May 2022”
“while wishing all the Muslims faithful a pleasant Eid al--Fitr celebration, management also wishes all Students a very Safe return to the institution on Sunday 8th May ,2022”.
