The management of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo Ondo State, this afternoon has urged all aspirants vying for any post in the institution not to over spend for the 2020/2021 campaign.
In a joint meeting held earlier today with all aspirants and the Directorate of students Affairs, Oloye M. O, said no aspirants should spend beyond 50 thousand naira to campaign.
He also said; "the management will not be responsible for any loss made by any aspirants who claims to over spend to campaign for the election".
During an interview with the Guardian and counselor, Mrs. Sasere L.O, revealed that the decision made by the management was as a result of the previous incident whereby one of the past aspirants who claimed to have spent over 2 million naira for campaign.
"No student should rally about sharing any gift behind the corner because the school will not be responsible for such act of over spending and that is part of the main reason no aspirants have been authorized to do campaign within the institution," She said.
However, she added that students can thereby apply the E-campaign system to do the campaign because it remain the cheapest and easiest system to operate in order to reduce the high rate of spending.
