The Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Chief Medical Officer, who doubles to be the Director of Health Services, Dr. Ademola Musa Obanoyen has confirmed that adequate treatment of students had been their priority over the years.
Dr. Obanoyen made this known in an interview at his office on Thursday, 1st of July, 2021.
In his words, ''Adequate treatment cannot be underestimated in the life of human being. It is very expedient for people.''
He added ''Health is Wealth''.
He further stressed that, the benefit of Health Centre in the institution is enormous and important to students.
Obanoyen explained that new students usually undergone medical checkup such as Blood test, X-ray test, among others; in order to know the health status of students and treat them if necessary.
However, he stressed that students who registered at the Health Centre always get free health services., debunking the rumour that students are only given paracetamol (White Chalk), at the Health Centre.
He added that the Centre usually render quality health treatment and recommend good drugs to her patients; imploring all students to visit the Pharmacy Department of the Health Centre for better information.
Furthermore, Obanoyen explained that COVID-19 vaccine has been made available for all students and staff who may have symptoms of the pandemic and the treatment is free of charge.
Consequently, in another interview with the Pharmacy Technician, Mrs.Omoniyi advised students to make use of the institution's Health Centre, in order to maintain physical fitness.
Obanoyen admonished students to register at the Health Centre, avoiding drug addiction like Tramadol, Cigarette, India Hemp and Cocaine, which can cause damage to their health.
Obanoyen further advised students to shun ''Cultism'', because it doesn't give hope but destruction. Stressing that they are the leaders of tomorrow.
