C.O.G. DESERVES EQUAL RECOGNITION WITH THE S.U.G. - Mr. Oloye

The Directorate of Student Affairs, Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Mr. Gbenga Oloye has called for more recognition of the Council of Governors (C.O.G.), by the school Management and students in general.

Oloye made this statement at the C.O.G's Welcome & Orientation programme, held at the 800 seaters auditorium, on Friday, 23rd of July, 2021.

He added that, the C.O.G. habitually perform the responsibilities of the Student Union Government (S.U.G), in their absence.

In addition, Oloye lauded the emeritus C.O.G. Chairman Adegboyega, for the great landmark he achieved and established during his regime.

However, the Dean of Student Affairs, Mr. Olu-braimoh, while speaking at the event, reiterated that the C.O.G. remains imperative in the institution, as it stands the chance of representing students of the citadel and maintain intimacy, in the area of disseminating information to students.

Furthermore, the Director of Academic Affairs, Mr. Gbenga Ademiloye, who was also at the C.O.G.'s Orientation programme said, ''students are expected to maintain the good image of the institution''.

Moreso, in a speech by another guest speaker, the H.O.D. of Social Development, Barr. Bola Kayode stressed that, every nation must be developed through leadership strategies and laws.

Moreover, the C.O.G. Chairman, Tabiti Inumidun, in his welcome address, applauded all dignitaries and students who were present at the event.

Meanwhile, Tabiti expressed disappointment over the attitude of his council members before the commencement of the event, stressing that the  growth and development of the institution, lies with the people he termed, "leaders of tommorow".


However, students were being advised to be hard working, avoid examination malpractice, shun cultism, be law abiding and maintain peace in campus, in order to enhance the progress of the institution.
