The 31st elected Student Union President of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Comr. Omoboni Olusola Joseph has reiterated his promise to make this academic section of 2020/2021 remarkable for all students.
Olusola made this statement during an on-the-spot interview, at the Joint Christian Campus Fellowship (J.C.C.F.) Fresher's Welcome Service, which was held at the 800 Seaters Auditorium yesterday Sunday, 13th of June, 2021.
However, in another interview with the RUGIPO Chaplain, Rev. Rufus Ranmilowo A., who preached on the theme ''MY PRESENCE SHALL GO WITH YOU''., stressed that the programme was an annual event which comes up every section to welcome, pray and prepare the newly admitted students for the task ahead.
Rev. Ranmilowo further advised the fresher's to give their lives to Christ, follow God's principles, attend classes and obey rules and regulations in the institution.
Furthermore, the Speaker of the Hallow Chamber, Senator Adebayo Julious Oyenyen, admonished the newly admitted students to be responsible.
He said ''Remember the sons and daughters of whom you are''.
Moreso, speaking with the J.C.C.F. President, Olumegbon Oriade Moses stressed that God had been supportive in diverse ways since he became the Bishop, which made it easy for them to successfully organize the welcome service and the thanks giving ceremony of the S.U.G. body, over the success of their general election few months ago.
In addition, Bishop Moses promised to unveil better programmes which will glorify the name of the Lord Almighty in the future.
In addendum, the Assistant Sisters' Coordinator, who also doubles to be the Welfare Coordinator, Opeyemi Akeredolu adviced the new students to always put God first in all they do.
In her words "Pray as if you have not read and read as if you have not prayed''.
The J.C.C.F. body which combines different students' fellowship across the institution entertained dignitaries such as Rev. Rufus Ranmilowo A. (RUGIPO Chaplain), Student Union Government body (S.U.E.C, S.R.C. and S.J.C), Emeritus S.U.G. President, Akeju Blessing J., NAN's Fin. Sec., Oluwarotimi Tobiloba, among others.
