The Independent Student Electoral Committee ISEC has declared Senator Oyenyen Adebayo Julius as new Senate President elect.
The ISEC Chairman, Agbim Samuel made the declaration after the Student Representative council election held today 22 April 2021 having got 24 votes.
Meanwhile, Adesiyan Blessing Olajuwon also with 24 votes won the post of the deputy senate President.
In other positions contested for in the election, Akinola Oluwafemi Gabriel won the position of chief whip with 24 vote, Abu Olwatosin Temitope emmerge as clerk with 24 vote, as Akinbolaji Taye Josephine was elected as the deputy clerk with 23 vote.
However, all Aspirants are unopposed
The election conducted via electronic voting have a total number 34 of registered voters, 26 Accredited voter and a total 24 of vote cast.
Other senators include Adesomoju Isaiah A representing mechanical engineering department constituency 2, Fagbote Micheal O. representing regional planning department constituency 2, Omotoye Tosin representing food science Technology constituency 1, and Alabi John Paul representing civil engineering department constituency 2.
And OJo Ayodeji representing Urban and regional department constituency 1, Julius Olumide representing Business administration department Constituency 1, Iluyomade Toluwani representing AEET Constituency 1, Olurunda Andrew representing EET constituency 1, and Olu Awelewa representing Accountancy department constituency 1.
Also in the house as members of the senate are Ahgo Jeremiah representing mechanical engineering constituency 1, Ogunti Ayodeji science laboratory Technology constituency 1, Adeoti Tope representing the mass communication department constituency 1, Ayoledele victor representing banking and finance department constituency 1, Omorigi Itunu representing banking and finance constituency 2, and Adaudu Adegoriola representing public Administration constituency 2.
Also David Glory representing science laboratory Technology constituency 1, Oyelere Esther representing N &D constituency 1, Olopete samuel mass communication department representing constituency 2, Olumorokun Micheal representing HMT constituency 1, Ahmed Habib computer Engineering constituency 1, and Omoara Adedayo representing S & G constituency 1 were also elected as members of the senate.
The Hostel representative at the new senate include Duyile Adenike representing block A, Oladapo Deborah representing block B, Itah joy representing block E, Dada Rachel representing block F, Balogun Christian representing block G, Ikindayo Oluwatobi representing block 7, Olowokande Olalekan representing block 8
Consequently, the guidance and counselor of the Institution Mrs. Sasere advised all elected SRC members to work in accordance with the constitution.
