The Guidance and counseling Unit of Students Affairs, Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo, Mrs. Sasere L.O. has reaffirm that, no condition is permanent as everything that has a beginning must have an end.
She made this known recently when speaking with her correspondent in her Office, she stressed further that, the essence of the Guidance and counseling Unit is to guide the people in "Counseling Services" for them to overcome depression and other life challenges.
Adding that, Depression is a mood disorder that can affect a person's daily life, may be described as feelings or sadness and the belief that there is no hope for future.
According to Longman Dictionary, she said is an act at which one bears things imbalance emotionally, which if not addressed properly can lead to suicide.
In addendum, Mrs. Sasere note the remote causes of Depression for students which area: abject poverty, Hereditary, Hypertension, Sleeplessness Night, Loss of appetite, Fear of examination failure Hopelessness future, and lack of assimilation when reading,
Intimidation from friends, all these issues can lead to depression for student she said.
Moreover, She said, students can overcome depression by oncover their problem and there will always solution to the problems, has Guidance and Counseling in the institutions is meant to solve Students problems.
However, She advice to free themselves from depression for them to perform well academically and Shared their problem with someone that can help them "Guidance and Counseling Unit".
Also,The Youth should be wise about how politicians used and abandon, in political activities and Charge them to do something needful to curb depression in our society.
