COG Inaugurates New Executive Leadership at Adekunle Ajasin Auditorium
The Council of Governors (COG) on Thursday held its official inauguration ceremony at the Adekunle Ajasin Auditorium, with the event commencing at exactly 11:00am. The programme attracted key dignitaries, student leaders, past COG chairmen, and members of the university community.
The Director of Student Affairs, Mr. Elebute, and the Dean of Social Science, Dr. Abubakri, were both present to grace the occasion. Representatives of the Student Union Government, including the Senate President and his executive team, also attended in solidarity.
The Master of Ceremony for the day, Comrade Oladejo Precious Olamide ( P.K.A God Over), coordinated the event with excellence and ensured a smooth flow of activities.
The 36th SUG President, in his goodwill message, delivered a congratulatory speech to the newly inaugurated executives,
*Folorunso Ayomide Modupe* : who emerged as the COG Chairman, *Adewumi Praise Adefiolade* : COG Vice Chairman, *Akinya Moyinoluwa Ruth* : COG General Secretary, *Ibrahim Agbolahan Oluwaniyi* : Assistant General Secretary, *Oladejo Yusuf Babatunde* : PRO, *Kolawole Adefemi Success* : Financial Secretary, *Omotosho Abdulquadri Gold:* Treasurer, *Ojo Folorunso Oluwatobi* : Welfare Director, *Ijatula Olusola Joseph* : Sport Director, *Ikuyeju Daniel Olamide* : Social Director, respectfully. Urged them to uphold integrity, accountability, and commitment in serving the student body.
Former COG leaders also gave inspiring remarks. The 19th COG Chairman, Comrade Olaolorunpo Olawunmi Banji, delivered an advisory speech, encouraging the new administration to build on the legacy of previous leaders. His message was followed by the 21st COG Chairman, Comrade Atitebi Precious, who also charged the new executives to work together, remain focused, and prioritize the welfare of students.
The event concluded with the newly inaugurated chairman appreciating all dignitaries present and expressing readiness to lead with vision, unity, and transparent governance.
